A sister's cry

Miri Faro:
I sit with sharrone a few times a week, and it never feels like its enough. But everytime I am amazed at her strength. i know inside she is dying of pain, pain that BH none of us can feel, the pain of watching someone you love so deeply be hurting and there is almost nothing u can do to take it away from them,. almost as if u are helpless to wait and allow the treatment to take its course.
so I asked Sharrone, what makes you get through from day to day and have the strength and emunah? and she said Miri its all everyones dahvening, challah baking, shirum, hachlatas and so much more. My BINYOMIN got people from England, Israel, South Africa, Australia, America and Canda, to move mountains in shamayim and if we can do this, united as we are, then he will get better and this is what brings moshiach. So basically the point to the storey is that bloging all you do helps sharrone, it gives her the support she needs to know you all are with them on this jorney, and from all we do good will come!

Hachlata time!!!

Ali Bhatia:
It is amazing what everyone is doing and continues to do to speed up Binyamin's recovery, from Tehilim, to challah baking to learnathons, as well as tzedaka ,Binyamins name on posters at mikvahs, shiurim and so much more.... Another great thing everyone can do on an induvidual basis is take on a personal Hachlata, ( a resolution) It could be anything that is meaningful to you and will please G-D make a world of difference to Binyamin Zav Hachonen Ben Sharrone Rivka. So come on! Choose your Hachlata and if its not too personal, tell us about it on the comments.

PS - Helpful Tip: Choose something small that you know you can keep. If you still feel overwhelmed, choose a time limit for it (like 3 months or so) and you can extend it later on or choose a new one

Machsom L'fi

While Shmiras Haloshon is a requirement every day and at all times, focusing specifically on this mitzvah for a set period each day is a proven way to bolster your overall observance. Those who undertake a Machsom L'fi, commit themselves, in conjunction with others, to avoid speaking or hearing loshon hora during a two- hour period each day. This can be done as a powerful merit for someone who is ill, or for anyone that needs Divine mercy.

We are looking for at least 9 people willing to commit for a 2 hour time slot for one week. More participants are welcome since it would be better to have each time slot covered by 2 people just in case someone forgets. The commitment will also include daily learning of the laws of

Shmiras Haloshon(by email , phone or sefer) as well as saying a daily brocha.
Please let me know if you would like to join and I will send you available time slots.

Hi Everyone,

Binyamin had B"H a very playful Shabbos, he was in a great mood. We even got our own room! About 2 hrs before Shabbos was ending I went to lift him up and the "lines or tubes" which are connected on one side to the chemo and the other side to a port in his chest also known as a metaport. The lines are quite long to allow for Binyamin to walk around and play. Anyways I went to pick him up to rest with me and the line got caught in the chair... It tugged a little too much and caused to port to remove itself from the main vein. And its not working anymore :o( so unfortunately Binyamin will need surgery again to have it repaired...
Will update more tomorrow!!!

South Florida Tehillim

Tammy: Tehillim for the immediate and full Refuah for Binyomin Zev Hakohen Ben Sharrone Rivka is being said daily by my family, my kids, their classes, and the entire Hebrew Academy Community School in Margate, FL.

the following pictures were taken on 5/5/11. the pictures of Binyamin eating are special since its been days since he ate - and he was blowing me kisses. the pictures of Binyamin with the older boys is cute since the boys came to the hospital today to see if they are bone marrow donor matches. anyways with my Drs. permission we snuck Binyamin out of the Oncology ward (where he is kept in his room 24/7 in isolation since he has a slight "cold") and took him into a conference room to spend about 20 min visiting with his brothers (who were given Oreo cookies for being so brave and sharing their blood to make their brother stronger). Enjoy the pics :o) Keep doing Mitzvahs to help him get stronger!

Thursday, May 5, 2011

Dear All,

First of all - Motty and I would like to thank you all for your amazing support! Thursday evening April 28th Motty took Binyamin to have his blood drawn. Friday morning we received results that his blood work was troublesome - Motty and I were in the city at work. we took a taxi home, picked up Binyamin and got to the hospital and was quickly told that our DEAR SON BINYAMIN has Leukemia… Binyamin's form of Leukemia is "AML" Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The treatment is basically IY"H (should he respond well to the Chemo) going to be 4 weeks in the hospital than 3 DAYS home than 6 weeks in the hospital 3 days home back and forth for 4 "rounds" of Chemo Therapy. B"H Binyamin has minimally gained some of his appetite back. the first few days were scary for him and he wasn’t eating (he was being poked a lot with needles) - and now that he has his medevac in he is able to have his blood drawn threw there as well as receive his Chemo. Every day is going to pose its own challenges - life as we knew it will never be the same. HOWEVER we have an amazing group of "FAMILY" who has rallied around us and come up with AMAZING ways to spread the word that we need Tehillim, Challah and Mitzvahs done in Binyamin Zev Zechus. reading the blog daily has literally brought tears to our and our families eyes seeing what you all our doing. Please if it's not too personal shoot me an email and tell me what Mitzvah you have taken on in the Zechus of Binyamin's Refuah.

With all our LOVE,

Motty and Sharrone

Pessy Jacobs and Chava Popack:
To all our dear friends and family who are baking in the zechus of binyamin zev's speedy recovery, first, thank you!!

To do this, you would be baking your challah either Thursday or Friday, preferably as close to Friday as possible. While making the dough please have Binyamin Zev Hakohen ben Sharrone Rivka in mind.
When you are ready to take your dough, make the bracha on the dough and then say:
"Yehi Ratzon Mil'fanecha Ado-nai Elokai V'elokai Avosai Shetishlach Mehaira Refuah Shelaimah Min Hashamayim, Refuas Hanefesh Urefuas Haguf Lacholeh Binyamin Zev Hakohen Ben Sharrone Rivka
Besoch Shaare choleh amo Yisroel"
A perek of tehillim should then be said for Binyamin. You would then burn your piece of challah.
Tizku l'mitzvos!!

The list of our 43 bakers will be sent directly to Sharrone

Rosh Chodesh I wrote a PAN for Ben,

B"H

Shea Werner: I printed, read and left the blog by the Rebbe. Also in honor of Erev Rosh Chodesh I wrote a PAN for Ben, Motty and Sharrone.

I met a friend Rabbi Halperin who teaches Shiur Aleph in Mesivta at Oholei Torah and I asked him to have his class say tehillim for ben and I left him the full name.

I would suggest since Chasidus constantly reiterates the importance of tzedaka and the Rebbe said many time today the main mitzva is tzedaka, that you suggest each person should put in tzedaka in merit of Benyamin Zev Hakohen (it can be a coin - the amount doesn't matter) but I would suggest you put that up on the blog.

Have a good day. We will hear good news immediately.

Thursday Night Chaburah is back on

Hope everyone had a nice Pesach. I am pleased to say that the Thursday Night Chaburah is back on! For all those who attended in the past and those who have not attended the “Thursday Night Light” Chaburah hosted at Avi Popacks home at 720 Central Avenue Woodmere NY gave all the opportunity to connect to concepts in Judaism that raise their awareness of Hashem’s continuous involvement in this world and enlightened us all in our abilities to develop our Emunah.
This Thursday night May 5th at 8pm at 447 Westminster Rd., Cedarhurst NY 11516 at the home of Max and Dena Shemesh we will be having the kick off for the Spring Season of the “Thursday Night Light” Chaburah. We will have music, BBQ, Chulant, Kugel, drinks, nosh, hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, etc.
During these hard times we are all praying for health, happiness, and wealth and we believe that going forward we should dedicate these special gatherings for something or someone special. Whether it be for a refuah shelaima, yartzeit, or praying for those in need. We would like to dedicate this Thursday nights Chabura to Binyamin Zev Ben Sharone Rivka. May Hashem bless him with a speedy Refuah and grant his family the strength to overcome these trying times.
In addition to our special weekly program we will also be honored by the presence of a World Renowned guest Speaker, Rabbi Simon Jacobson.
Rabbi Simon Jacobson is the author of Toward a Meaningful Life (William Morrow, 2002), founder of The Meaningful Life Center (meaningfullife.com) and publisher of the Yiddish English weekly, The Algemeiner Journal (algemeiner.com). For over fourteen years Rabbi Jacobson served as the documenter and publisher of the seventh Lubavitcher Rebbe’s public talks from 1979 till 1992. He also headed the research team for Sefer Halikutim - an encyclopedic collection of Chassidic thought (26 volumes, published 1977-1982). As one of most pioneering and sought after writers and speakers in the Jewish world today, Rabbi Jacobson has deeply impacted diverse audiences in all continents with his keen insights into the human condition, applying Torah thought to contemporary life, in a cutting edge voice that is rooted in the timeless teachings of Judaism, while being profoundly timely and relevant
Please join us as we partake in an exciting evening of inspiration. You are welcome to invite all those that you think might enjoy.
Looking forward to seeing you,
